“This life is yours.
Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well.
Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly.
Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature.
Take the power to control your own life.
No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.”

Pingback: You Have the Power | PRECIOUS MOMENT LIVING
If we don’t take the power and allow others or other things to take the power, we lose. I allowed that for a while with this illness and then took my power back.
Exactly!
We must always take the power over our own lives.
Pretty words and pictures. Those help you through it, assuming that those things can help you. If you feel that words and pictures are mostly just things that have a meaning inside their own context, they do nothing but make the people spouting those seem like they really don’t understand the people who aren’t “positive thinkers”.
The diagnosis itself that I and many others have means any pretty words won’t help, so to me the whole phenomenon seems like “happy” people verbally masturbating with each other.
With this response I mean no ill will, disrespect or bad intent, but the subjective viewpoint of a mentally ill person.
Thank you for sharing your opinion!
I am also an ex-sufferer of several mental illnesses and such positive messages, books and tons of positive information (that I didn’t believe in at first) was exactly the thing that cured me in the end.
So this is why I’m now sharing positive thoughts with others through my blog.
I’m sorry if these kind of messages insult you in some way. If seeing other ex-sufferers of mental illnesses sharing positive messages makes you unhappy, then I would just advise that you stop reading these messages/blogs etc.
No piece of written material is ever obligatory, especially blogs. So please do stop reading my blog if it makes you unhappy.
