I am currently in Psychology 101 and some of the topics that we have covered involved some illnesses that I have watched family member suffer with and it has affected me. One of these illnesses is Anxiety, which in many ways can cripple and lead a person to stop living a normal live based on fear. There are several categories which include: general anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobia, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress. After learning about the different categories it seems silly that at one time I thought anxiety was only one huge category that did not have subdivision. After learning about these divisions, it makes anxiety disorders easier to categorize and describes why all people with anxiety are not subjected to similar events that cause the disorder.
